I’m a few weeks late in getting the word out, but that is in large part because I fainted dead away when it was announced on Facebook that Spectrum Fantastic Art Live would be returning to Kansas City, MO in May 2014!!! I promptly got online and changed my vacation plans–I kid you not–as I had made the assumption it would be the same weekend as previous years (if held) and this year it is one week earlier. So…I’ll be starting the week of my 25th wedding anniversary by hanging out with some of the coolest and most creative people in the world followed by a nice, relaxing vacation with Mary. Can’t wait!!!

So folks, you have PLENTY of notice this time. Be there! I want the third time to be a charm with this truly indescribable event. Save your pennies, make your travel plans, and let’s do a huge meet up at SFAL3! This is my home town (of 15 years). I promise I’ll show you a good time.

No word on who will be the special guests for SFAL3, but rest assured that they will be top notch, phenomenal artists. Be prepared for Spectrum art related posts to crop up throughout the next several months, especially once tickets go on sale, with those posts increasing the closer we get to May 9th, 2014.

You will see some of the best art in the world up close and personal. You will meet hundreds of incredibly creative people and learn that they are really nice and are fans themselves. And, I must warn you, you will want to empty your pocketbooks to take some of the treasures you will find home with you.

Hope to see you there…er, here!

    1. She would. Saturday’s are your best dollar value. Single days are $20 and Saturday has the longest hours. But Sunday is nice too.

    2. I’ve taken Ashley both years on Sunday and she’s loved it.

  1. Save very penny,
    Save every dime,
    Come to Kansas City
    for a really great time!

    “I’m goin’ to Kansas City,
    Kansas City, here I come…”

Hooray! I’m so glad to hear this news! Now all I have to do is 1) talk Barbara into us going, 2) steel myself to the idea of flying (too long / far / expensive by car or train), 3) save some money and figure out where I might put more artwork in this house.

    1. I gave you plenty of notice this time so hopefully you can manage to put all three plans into motion!!! 🙂 Add “pack a nice dress up outfit” because you’ll want to attend the Oscar-style Spectrum 21 Awards Ceremony on Saturday night, which is part of the weekend package deal.

      1. I got rid of all my dressy outfits when I retired, after wearing suit / slacks-coat-tie for 30 years, I swore never again. So it’ll have to be shorts and a golf style shirt…

        1. I haven’t dressed up the past two years for the event, but I think this year I may try to do so. It is fun irregardless.

  2. Just like you I can’t wait until next year for this wonderful event. Words can’t express enough what a truly unique and inclusive show this is. I also love the earlier dates this year as well.

    1. I’m glad this year will work out for you being there the whole weekend. Wasn’t the same without you.

  3. I love that you changed your vacation plans. That’s commitment. Only if I lived closer I would love to go and experience this and more importantly, meet you. I have a feeling we would have much to talk about.

    1. I actually had to change my vacation plans for this year’s event as well, so it is something I’m certainly used to. 🙂

Wish you could make it too, it would be fun!

  4. I would love to attend SPECTRUM FANTASTIC ART 3, but the timing is bad for me. May 9-11 falls during our FINAL EXAM week (yes, I have a Saturday class). Rick Robinson should make the trip!

  5. Ahh, if only. Unfortunately highly unlikely for me but I’m sure I’ll be able to see some fantastic images courtesy of your good self. I hope you’ll be posting lots.
    Fantastic image btw.
    Lynn 😀

    1. Yes, I’d love it if the whole blogging gang could make it.

  6. ohhhh! Definitely marking my calendar! Recently reconnected with an old high school friend and fellow nerd/geek/scifi nut that has family in Kansas City. May try to talk him into going and letting me ride along! 😀
