The Art of John Harris: Beyond the Horizon

Today at SF Signal I review The Art of John Harris: Beyond the Horizon, which will be released on May 27th, 2014 by Titan Books.

This is the long-awaited second collection of the works of John Harris, spanning over 35 years of his career as a fine artist whose subject matter is often the massive landscape of space.

John Harris was one of my nominations for the Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist this year and I am happy to say he made the ballot. This book is particularly timely as it contains examples of much of the work he did that is eligible for this year’s award.

This is an affordable, beautifully produced must-have art book for fans of science fiction imagery. I encourage you to check out my review as it is accompanied by many gorgeous examples of Harris’ work.

  1. I guess I didn’t realize this was a second volume. I’ll have to see if the first is still around, and try to see if there is overlap.

    1. I need to go check downstairs and see if I have Mass. I could swear I do, and it would be interesting to see if there is any overlap.

  2. Like, Rick, my copy of THE ART OF JOHN HARRIS should arrive on Tuesday. I can’t wait! John Harris has been one of my favorite SF cover artists for years. I’ve purchased books simply because they had Harris covers.
