I’m going to experiment for awhile with sharing some of the sites, mostly art related, from my Favorites folder. I will be doing this on Fridays hence the name and new category title. So without further ado:

Almost Naked Animals is a cute little site I stumbled across just the other day. The art is the work of Noah Z. Jones and features just what it says…fun little drawings of shaved animals in their underpants! Each animal has its own set of likes and dislikes, for example Cows’ likes are: Crayons, Running Fast, Being a Cow and his dislikes are: Snakes, Cloudy Days, Arguments. I got a real chuckle looking at all the animals and reading their mini bios. The monkey is by far my favorite and she alone is worth a visit to the site. You can also sign up by email to be in the Super Secret Fanclub, which of course I did…how could I resist? By joining you get a Super Secret Nickname and an assignment to be carried out. Its all really fun and kid friendly and I hope you go visit and smile…or shake your head at the fact that shaved, underwear-wearing animal cartoons constitute humor for me.

Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride came out on DVD this past Tuesday. It looks to have a good deal of extras on the disk which I am looking forward to watching as much as watching the movie again.. Good grave fun, if you missed it my review is here.
Happy Friday Everyone!
Howie is my favorite.
Howie is cute…if you join the fanclub you can send him a picture of what animal you’d like to see him do next. You ought to send him a picture of Motley!
Then they would have a cartoon dog named Motley on the website?
I think I like the Mammoth the best. Very interesting art. Disturbing and cute at the same time. I think this why I’m not an artist. I just can’t think up things like this. I’m too traditional.
Corpse Bride was fun. I will be interested to hear if the extras are any good. I wouldn’t mind checking out the Wallace and Gromit disc when it comes out too and see if it has any cool extras. I can’t wait another five years for these guys to make another stop motion film. I hope one of these two movies wins the Animation Oscar. It was interesting to see this year of the three films nominated none of them were computer generated animated films. I guess substance does win out over splash sometimes.
I’m hoping Wallace and Gromit wins as I just loved that movie. That’s another one I want to pick up.
I have no idea how seriously he considers suggestions Abby.
The kids enjoyed them. The monkey is my fave. I am somewhat biased toward monkeys because of Elaina.
Tori and I watched all the extras on Corpse Bride last night and there is some great stuff on there. Not nearly as long as I would’ve like the features to be but I enjoyed it. Hopefully he’ll come out with a collector’s edition sometime with commentary and some longer features.
Hello Carl V,,
The artwork of Noah Z. Jones did make me smile (and roll my eyes, but, in a very Carl has good taste sort of way….yes, it is possible for eye-rolling to convey ALL of that).
I have not yet seen The Corpse Bride but it is on my Zip List (the Canadian version of Netflix). Now, I am off to read your review of it.
Good to know Canada has its own Netflix-ish program…tis a wonderful thing!
I’m not sure how you go about shaving an octopus, but it sure is funny!
Probably use that new Fusion razor they showed on the Superbowl commercials yesterday.
