Very little is revealed about the person who is Miel-Margarita Paredes on her website, but one thing is obvious, she has quite the talent in metalwork.
Calling forth images of the Nautilus in Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the octopus teapot was all it took to have me sold on her work.
Yes, its true. There is a definite May-December romance going on here, make no mistake. I know it is probably wrong but I simply cannot help myself. She is just too charming and too cute to resist. And so I am lost. I cannot stop seeing her and have already scheduled more time together in the near future. Does my wife know, you might ask? Well….yes she does. And what’s more, she approves. Truth be told I think Mary is in love with her as well. And my daughter Tori. I suppose it is all a bit untoward, but there is the truth of it.
Okay, while I am being a bit facetious, the truth is that our whole family has developed quite the crush on this lady…or at least on two of the characters that she plays. And who is this mystery woman you might ask?
As I drove home from work last night, window down and heater on (a habit I love to indulge in when the cool fall weather settles in), I admired the fog blanketing the moonlit fields and contemplated just how happy I was at that moment.
Okay, its really not a ‘terrible’ Tuesday. In fact its quite wonderful. It is, in fact, a perfect R.I.P. day: cloudy, unseasonably cool (68 degrees for the high today…I’m in heaven!), I won my first game in Fantasy Football…(sorry Jeff)…and my wife made chili for the first time this season last night, which means leftovers!!! But the title fits in this sense: I had no idea what to post today and couldn’t think of anything at all (How terrible!!!) until inspiration struck!
It is hard to believe that it has been 5 years since this terrible, fateful day. I remember getting into my car to drive to work and turning on NPR and hearing that a plane had struck the World Trade Center. I pulled back into the driveway and ran inside and turned on the television. It was so unbelievably shocking…I left the house several times that morning only to turn around and come right back because I didn’t want to stop watching, and I didn’t want it to be real.
