The Anderson Project

The-Anderson-Project-David

The reason behind the choice for my short story reading for this week should be glaringly obvious, shouldn’t it? I mean what a great name!

Of course it is the non-related Richard Anderson who is the inspiration for the name of this short collection, not yours truly, for it is Anderson’s art, in particular this image, that fueled the imaginations of these three authors.

Editor David G. Hartwell began this concept in conjunction with Tor.com with The Palencar Project, a series of stories based on an image painted by artist John Jude Palencar. This time around Hartwell commissioned authors to write science fiction novelettes inspired by this fantastic image.

This week on SF Signal I review, in non-spoiler fashion, the three stories that make up this collection.  There you will find links to all three stories that can be read for free, or you can get the ebook for $1.99.

Ken Liu’s story alone is worth the time, but all three stories showcase skilled storytelling.  Please check out my review, but more importantly check out these enjoyable novelettes.
