Its Thursday, tra la la….

(From Chris Bishop’s online cartoon Her![Girl vs Pig])

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.
~e.e. cummings

It is Thursday, it has already been a long and tiring week, and I need a smile. A little laughter. Go ahead and have a little for yourself. Go on, its okay. You need it.

Turn up your sound and laugh with me. This kid’s laugh sends me into hysterics. My eyes well up with happy tears everytime I hear this infectious giggle. Wonderful!

And speaking of babies, you have to go award-winning young adult author Shannon Hale’s website and see pictures of her new bundle of joy. She is so darling and the “one-eye picture”, the first of the three, cracks me up (click on it to make it bigger. Isn’t she cute?)

How one’s behavior can be influenced by a crowd is an interesting phenomenon as can be seen in this video that was sent to me by Jeff from his friend Bill. The first guy makes me laugh simply because of his stubborness of purpose.

Back to kids, my friend Karen posted about the woes of having, or not having as the case may be, personal space in the house when you have younger siblings. Though the text tells the story, I think the pictures…especially the last one with Julian’s body language, tells it all!

And last, but not least, if you want to bring a little light, silly entertainment into your life, go give Mr. Fancy Pants a try. It is a short but sweet little flash game that is very easy to play. I love the sound it makes when you jump on the spiders. This game is so well done. The way in which Mr. Fancy Pants’ motion when he runs and jumps and flips is so fluid, the aesthetics of the whole thing, are what make it fun.

By the way, all this stuff is work safe…unless you have a boss who actually expects you to be getting work done and not playing on the computer.

Dad always thought laughter was the best medicine, which I guess is why several of us died of tuberculosis.

Have a wonderful, smile-filled Thursday everyone!

  1. well thanks Carl! I didn’t get a chance to watch the video’s yet because I’m late for my internship, but just this post in itself got me off to a good day. Hope you have a great one too!

  2. giggles are abounding over here at the library ladder! hehe hope the week starts to look up – at least the weekend is just around the corner.

  3. Cheers Carl, I don’t have speakers on the work computer, but just watching that baby laugh was enough to put a smile on my face.

  4. You’ve got to hear it though, Fence. The breath-taking part of the kids laughter is literally that–breathtaking.

  5. I love a day filled with laughter. And since my kids are stinkin’ hilarious all the time…I never have a day without laughter!!

  6. Oh, I needed a laugh too, Carl! Thanks for the clip. That baby is adorable, and you’re right–you can’t keep from laughing when watching it.

I should bookmark this post so I can watch it when I need a pick me up.

  7. I’ve seen the laughing baby before, but can’t help smiling even thinking about it. Thanks for a bright start to the day with all of your links!

  8. Agree with Rampant Bicycle, if you haven’t yet go check out Cute Overload. That site always makes me smile. Hey and it’s almost time for another weekend!

  9. That laughing baby reminds me of Jessica when she was a toddler. James would sing the Barney song with his Barney voice and she would laugh hysterically. That’s super cute video. I got a bigger laugh out of the running crowd. That was stinkin hilarious!!

  10. The laughing baby is delightful. How wonderful that such a little thing can send a baby into gales of laughter. I remember my children doing the same over a silly little sound. Thanks for warming up my day.
