I apologize to the faithful for another Friday without a Friday Favorite. Work is life has been the theme around here lately. Sorry.
But there is good news, Monday brings R.I.P. II news! Have a wonderful weekend, think creepy thoughts, and tune in Monday morning!
Finally! I’ve been checking your blog everyday for this news!!! Yay! So excited!
Oooh! Am off to the house in Wales today and will be picking up my RIP challenge books in readiness for the challenge!
Great!! I, too, have been checking for R.I.P. II news. Of course, this means I need to
finalize my list….
Love your picture today, Carl – that was my favorite R.I.P. read from last year π
oh boy.. good luck in your RIP challenge! I’ll be reading all the reviews!
Double, double, toil and trouble!! I can’t wait!
Off-topic, but which Neil Gaiman book is the retelling of one of the Chronicles of Narnia in? Fragile Things?
Finalize, I hope the list doesn’t have to be perfect, I make long lists and then read some of the books on it.
I missed the RIP last year. So I’m really excited for this year’s!
Oh, goody! Can’t wait, Carl!
YAY! Like everyone else, I’ve been waiting for this news. Very excited about this!
yay, can’t wait!
yay rip 2!
Glad everyone is excited about this one. Okay, a few things:
Deslily…there are several “dark” or “quasi-dark” fantasies out there and loads of wonderful classic and children’s/young adult books that qualify for this challenge. I hope when you see some of what others are reading that you will think about joining us. Kailana is a good example of someone who will pretty much just be reading fantasy, only it will be fantasy that fits in line with the challenge.
Kailana, you’ve seen my other challenges…I’m never a stickler about people sticking to their lists or committing to stuff up front. In fact I would do away with the idea of people declaring what they were going to read altogether if it wasn’t such a fantastic resource for people not sure what to read or looking for ideas of things they had not thought about.
I’m looking forward to working on the post this weekend for everyone to see on Monday!
You do know you have a famous reputation far and wide for your RIP challenge, don’t you?! I have stayed away from all challenges in anticipation for this one (actually I did just join one but it goes for six months, so I thought it would be safe to h ave two going at once). I’ve also been thinking of possible books. I have a few in mind, plus lots of short stories, but I look forward to what everyone else picks as well!!
And just thinking about this makes me hope that cooler autumn weather is just around the corner, too!! π
Oh Yay!!! I’ve been looking forward to this. I couldn’t participate last year because I was finishing up my A-Z list and needing to get through some books I’d been waiting to read. I’ve been working on my list for this year’s challenge ever since – oh, last October . . . .
I figured, just wanted to clarify. π
And there is lots of ‘dark’ fantasy. If anyone wants some suggestions just ask, that’s pretty well what my list will be. When I come up with a list… Well, last years was mostly fantasy anyways. π
Yay! I’m so excited! I’ve been thinking about my list for a bit now and look forward to seeing what everyone else selects.
The announcement will be the perfect way to kick off the week π
It’s been awhile since I’ve actually looked forward to a Monday. Hooray! for RIP II.
Kailana – As for Fragile Things and Narnia I believe the story is entitled The Problem with Susan,
Whoo hoo – I’ve been watching, waiting, gathering spooky titles – ready to go.
I don’t like REALLY REALLY scary, so hoping humorously scary is allowed π
But am planning to try my first Anne Rice ***shiver***
Happy weekend to you too, now we can look forward to Monday.
Thank you Jeff. I haven’t read Fragile Things yet, so I imagined it was in there. The person that mentioned it couldn’t remember which book it was in. π
No problem Kailana and I hope you enjoy Fragile Things.
Oooo…we’re so excited here in our little abode. Annie and I have been working on our lists for the past two months, changing our minds a hundred times. (Something Wicked This Way Comes has been on both of our lists all along though!)
