Back from a Dark Place

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated…but they sure seemed true for a time, didn’t they? As Sam says so poignantly at the end of The Return of the King, “Well, I’m back”.

Let me say first and foremost, I’ve missed all of you. I really have. Really, really.

A computer crash coupled with ongoing work issues, a ton of projects, and a really strong bout of malaise has really kept me away from the computer, other than for Fantasy Football issues, for a little over a week. I am sorry. Sorry that I have been an absentee host for a little over a week of the R.I.P. II Challenge and sorry that I’ve not been visiting your sites as well.

But, that is over for now! I’ve already begun catching up with some of you and will no doubt get with the rest of you before long. Tomorrow I will make up for my abscence with a Thursday Thirteen that will help me catch up on some of my past due reviews, and Friday….

Friday is gonna be a whopper. R.I.P. II contests and giveaways galore! I cannot wait to share it all with you. All I can say is get your pens and your cameras ready, there is going to be some really wonderful opportunities coming your way.

Again, I’ve missed you all terribly. I’m glad to be back!

  1. Welcome back.

And that is a great pic at the start, although I really hope your hand is in a slightly better state than that

  2. have no idea how 2 of that comment showed up.. and imagine that, they both can’t spell contemplating! heh

  3. Great to see you back around! My first two years of university I only had a laptop supplied computer that I gave back for the summer. I am not really sure how I would do that anymore, this was before blogging and reading challenges, but I used to!

I am so glad you are joinining in the Four-Legged Friends Challenge, I look forward to seeing your list!

  4. Glad you’re back Carl! Love that picture.

I really need to catch up with everyone’s blogs too…time seems to be getting away from me at the moment.

  5. Hi Carl, welcome back! We have been wondering about your absence… anyway good to see you’re back!

  6. So glad you’re back! I was wondering.

And I have a confession to make. I’ve been diligently working on my RIP II challenge, by reading The Thirteenth Tale.

I just can’t get into it!!!! Can I change one of my books, or is it too late?

I feel like a dunce, but the book’s just not grabbing me.

  7. Welcome back, man. Oh, and watch your back worm (he knows what I mean).

  8. There certainly has been a rash of computer crashes, I think it must be a plot from somewhere. I loved your picture. Very expressive!

  9. Thanks for the love, people! My head and heart are swelling! 😉 I was getting to the point of sending out a search party for myself!

Colleen, with my challenges, and I suspect the challenges of many others, you are never locked into the books you initially choose. No worries. I LOVED Thirteenth Tale and I know others who just didn’t get into it. Like any other book, it may be one that, at another time, you would really get into. So go ahead and pick something else.

  10. Glad to have you back! Pick up a book and relax…sounds as if you’ve been under a lot of stress lately, you definitely deserve a little book therapy.

  11. glad you’re back and sorry to hear about the heavy workload and the computer naughtiness!

by the way, is that swamp thing…?

  12. I am pretty sure this is a Day of the Dead poster that I stole and cropped the image from!!!
