It seems ages ago that I read and reviewed the first book in Colleen Gleason’s Gardella Vampire Chronicles, The Rest Falls Away, but it was actually the first book I completed in 2007. Waiting for books in a series to come out can be an agonizing experience for readers, wondering just when the author and publisher will get together to let the reader know just what has happened to the characters since they closed the page of the previous book. Mercifully the wait for the further adventures of our favorite Victorian Venator has not been too long.
Certain is it that there is no kind of affection so purely angelic as of a father to a daughter. In love to our wives there is desire; to our sons, ambition; but to our daughters there is something which there are no words to express.
~Joseph Addison
I find two things hard to believe this fine Friday morning: the first, that it is already June. Who stole the first 5 months of 2007? The second, that my daughter, that sweet little goo-covered babe that came into our lives at 8:11 p.m. on the first day of June in 1992, turns 15 today!
You may recall that back in December, just prior to the release of her debut novel, The Rest Falls Away, Colleen Gleason was sweet enough to be the first author grilled by your intrepid Stainless Steel Droppings reporter. The Rest Falls Away was a delectable introduction to the world of the Venators. On the eve of the release of book two in the Gardella Vampire Chronicles series, Rises The Night, Colleen Gleason has once again agreed to sit down and answer a few questions. (For background information, I highly recommend reading the first interview)
Just a reminder, you have until 11:59 p.m. CST to sign up to win an autographed copy of Colleen Gleason’s latest book in the Gardella Vampire Chronicles series, Rises The Night. This is an opportunity to own the book before its release date (depending on the speed of the postal service, of course)!
Simply leave the comment, “I’d like something to sink my teeth into” in the comments section here. If you already did so in yesterday’s post, you need not do it again. Good luck, everyone!
