Clarkesworld, Issue 90. March 2014

Does this look familiar? If so, you will recognize that it was one of my favorite cover images for the month in my recent March 2014 Cover Story post. With such a great cover, how could I not pick the current issue of Clarkesworld for my Short Fiction Friday post over at SF Signal today?

If you head over there you will find my non-spoiler review of the three works of original fiction featured in Issue 90. One is a science fiction story about war within our solar system, another is a look at humanity, and its future, from the point of view of an alien race, and the third looks at the pressures a young Japanese girl undergoes as she prepares for her entrance exams. That third story introduces readers to some of the interesting folklore/mythology of Japan.

As always, I appreciate you taking the time to visit SF Signal. And not just for my contributions. There are worthwhile posts cropping up over there throughout the day, seven days a week. Be sure to add it to your list of must-reads!

And with that I will wish you all a “Happy Friday”. I hope your weekends are filled with story, in whatever form(s) you chose to embrace it.
