A Journey Begins…with a winner!

“Win as if you were used to it, lose as if you enjoyed it for a change.”Ā
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

And so we begin. Our first giveaway for Once Upon a Time II required you to do something very simple that very well could produce something substantial and enduring: you signed up for a reading challenge. The deadline has passed (but only for this contest, I encourage those of you who haven’t to join us in the challenge) and the ultra-scientific prize drawing machine (i.e. slips of paper with numbers on them in a bowl) has worked its magic. We have a winner.

But before we go there, don’t you want to know what you might have won?

Do your eyes long for a peek?

Are your lips quivering in anticipation?

Are you nervously tugging at your hair?

Isn’t that image cool? My flash didn’t go off and I love the darker look of this picture. Oops…sorry, I got sidetracked. Now where was I?

Oh yes, the prize! Here it is:

Ta Da!!!! You’re very own brand spanking new copy of Charles de Lint’s latest, hot off the presses.

I suppose you are wanting to know who won now as well. You people are so demanding. Okay then, the winner is…..

Tanabata of In Spring It Is The Dawn. Congrats! Email me your addy and I’ll have it winging its way to you in no time!

For the rest of you, please make sure to check in regularly over the next 3 months. You never know when a random giveaway or contest will pop up. The next will be announced very, very soon!

  5. Hi! What a great site. I grew up loving “The Sandman” so of course, I’m enchanted
    with your blog.
I’m an editor at Scribner and I want to share our re-issue of
Ursula Le Guin’s classic, “The Lathe of Heaven” with you.
We’ve redesigned it with a fabulous new cover.
Can I share it with you?

  6. Yes indeed, Anna. I’m on my way out the door right now for the weekend but I’ll shoot you an email when I get back.

  7. Lucky! Lucky lucky lucky!! For those of us who adore Charles – lucky Tanabata!! Though, I can say, I’ve met him…had meals with him, sat at fantasy conventions with him (back when Ottawa had regular ones)…..he knows me by name šŸ™‚ and I’m so glad that more and more people are reading him. Great draw, Carl!

  8. Oh wow! We got back last night and I just looked at the comments on my blog! Would you believe I’ve never read anything by Charles de Lint? But I’ve been hearing about him lately from Nymeth and others and was wondering where to start. This is perfect! Thanks so much Carl!!

  9. Sorry I must be blind. I couldn’t find your email address listed on your blog anywhere. If you could mail me it’s tanabata2000 AT gmail DOT com. Thanks!
