I am a hypocrite. There, I admitted it. It is right there in black and white, or orange and black as the case may be. What, exactly, am I being hypocritical about this time? Film, specifically remakes and homages. In principal I don’t like the idea of remakes. I started thinking about this when I read the latest rumor going around the film world.
If you have come to the conclusion that I have been a lazy blogger lately, you would be partially correct! The number of posts per week has gone waaaay down over the past few weeks. I apologize. Acclimating to my new position at work, myriad other little projects that need doing, and the desire to just sit and rest have taken up much of my time lately. Add to that the fact that our work computer and phone system is down (no blog visiting during work time! the horror!) and you’ll see why I have been absent. I’ll be back on track soon. Today’s post will be a bit schizophrenic, hence the title. Put your seat belts on, folks, and away we go.
Last weekend I had the privilege of traveling to Columbia, Missouri to see my 15 year old niece, Haley, in her high school’s performance of Thorton Wilder’s play, The Matchmaker. Coming right on the heels of Valentine’s Day, the plays’ timing could not have been more perfect. I really enjoy the theatre, whether the performances are local on up to Broadway. There is something extremely enjoyable about seeing live performance. This was no exception.
Did anyone remember to catch last night’s History Channel special, Star Trek: Beyond the Final Frontier hosted by Leonard Nimoy? If so were you as geeked out as I was by the whole experience? What an incredible premise.
Went to bed last night with the snow falling down and awoke this morning to see the neighborhood blanketed with the white stuff. Hard to believe that they are predicting weather near 60 just one week from today. Today I have a kinship with my yard, we’re both under the weather. Actually this started Sunday evening and is continuing today. Today I’ll stay home and heavily medicate myself, hoping for a quick recovery.
