As we rapidly approach All Hallow’s Eve my short fiction reading has been focused on science fiction stories with a chilling edge. In my Short Fiction Friday review on SF Signal I review two stories from the recently released anthology In Space No One Can Hear You Scream and two stories from the October/November 2013 double issue of Asimov’s Science Fiction. I would love it if you took a moment to check out the review.
Hope everyone has a wonderful, story-filled weekend.
The reviews sound interesting. Of course the “In space no one can hear you scream” reminds me of Alien. I have read such little sci fi that it’s embarrassing. Cool you are focusing on it as a theme.
Me too, Erin. I’m sure that tag line was lifted for a reason. I haven’t done as much of it as I like this year, but it is fun to read scary shorts, particularly SF themed ones, this time of year.
Though not at all in the theme of the “season”, I’m reading mysteries by (recently deceased British author) Robert Barnard and by Ross Macdonald. These are for single author Friday Forgotten Books post coming up in early November and mid December.
You did your usual good job on the reviews; I enjoyed them.
Mysteries certainly feel seasonal to me, even though they work at any time during the year. Hope you are enjoying them.
And thanks!
