When the chairman introduced the guest speaker as a former illegal alien, I got up from my chair and yelled, “What’s the matter, no jobs on Mars?” When no one laughed, I was real embarrassed. I don’t think people should make you feel that way.

A bundle of joy arrived on my doorstep last night, accompanied by the above note. Although the other Poppets are a bit suspicious, he has been welcomed into the fold. Though the attached note indicated otherwise, Mary has christened him One of Six…that clever girl (we’ve been watching A LOT of Star Trek lately!!!) 😉
We have yet to learn of his true origin, although the place from whence he came must be highly radioactive:

One of Six’s arrival was the harbinger of more space related activity to come. A night of Deep Space Nine Season Three was followed by a middle-of-the-night awakening to gaze at the total lunar eclipse. After searching the yard to find a view not blocked by trees, I spent an enjoyable 20 minutes or so watching the dark red moon. The lack of luminescence made looking through the telescope a bit pointless, but it was beautiful to see with the naked eye. I took pictures, but of course they did not turn out.
And speaking of arrivals….They’re Baaaaack!!!!:

These are just a few examples of the many wonderful Poppets and Rats that Lisa Snellings-Clark has up for sale today. This sale ends the morning of September first, so get your orders in now! And don’t forget to bid on the many unique Poppets in the auction as well.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, normal day! And remember, when in doubt:
Everyone’s quick to blame the alien.
~Aeschylus
Oh, it was a lunar eclipse. Well, that sucks, I forgot to watch it! I knew there was something I forgot. And then I couldn’t remember what. I have a bad habit for forgetting to watch eclipses.
awwww, the alien is adorable!
I love the alien poppet! And the black one, and the one with the balloon… so beautiful!
On a side note, earlier today I noticed that my name is not on the sidebar list of participants on the review site.. The Golden Flask is listed twice, so I guess one of those was supposed to be me 😛 Sorry to pester you, but I thought I’d let you know.
Awww.. your very own Martin the Martian!!
KABOOOM~!
You’re not pestering, it has been taken care of!
I got a poppet! I got a poppet! I’ve been admiring them on other sites for ages now, and I finally got my very own little red! I’m SO excited!
Oooh, ooh! I love the little black and white spotted one. Absolutely adorable!
And, just fyi…I’d be suspicious too if that green-skinned guy turned up. Jus’ sayin’.
Oh, I so love the strangely spotted one as well! But the little alien…well, he’s just precious, and I think he definitely found a good home away from home.
I absolutely adore Annie’s little red poppet, and keep meaning to get a little “friend” for it…perhaps it’s time.
The strange little poppets are my favorites, but your new alien friend is in contention for a top spot.
Sounds like you had an out-of-this-world week 😉
I missed the lunar eclipse! In fact, I didn’t even know it happened!
That alien poppet rocks…The one’s she has up right now are awesome.
I’ve been having so much fun visiting everyone’s sites for the RIP challenge so far. The turnout is amazing! And once again, my TBR list is growing to ridiculous heights!
Damn. I’ve got to get me a poppet! Not sure about the Alien, but I do really like the little blue ones! And that black and white is just incredible!!
i love that letter that came with the alien. there’s so much personality in it!
aw… poor aliens. i’m sure people are now clamouring to be alien parents. i’ll take one! 🙂 they’ll definitely have no problem finding a home now!
I love the alien, it’s endearing. “It?”? Do aliens come in sexes or not? So sorry to hear your pictures of the eclipse didn’t turn out.
Its no biggie Pat, I was just thrilled to be able to see it. Thank God for the many reminders on the internet or I probably would have forgotten about it and kicked myself all the next day!
