10% off and books for kids.

Borders/Waldenbooks is teaming up with the nonprofit organization First Book to get books into the hands of children who may not normally get that opportunity. In addition book lovers, they are offering 10% off your total purchase.

I am linking to 2 coupons. The first I got in my email this morning offering 10% off your total purchase plus 10% of your purchase donated to First Book. This coupon says it is good “now through August 27th”.

The other is the coupon from the site stating the same program only it says it is only good August 26th and August 27th.

First Book looks like a really good organization. They have other opportunities to give books besides this promotion. In addition to a very thorough website they also have a blog.

Unfortunately this looks to be a promotion that is only available in the U.S. So book lovers, here is just another excuse to feed the addiction!

  1. In addition: For you Gaiman lovers or anyone interested, here’s a short review from someone who just finished reading American Gods.

And a post on Anne of the Island for any L.M. Montgomery fans.

Love this post on Why Read the Classics.

  2. I just got the Borders shortlist for this week with the same coupon but it doesn’t say anything about the First Book campaign. I’ll check out your link.

Just finished The Dante Club, started White Teeth.

  3. Why Read the Classics by Italo Calvino?

Have you read If, On a Winter’s Night A Traveler?

  4. Nope, haven’t read either of those but I love the quotes on that post I linked to from Calvino’s book so I’m interested.

I’ll have to pop over to your site to see if you reviewed Dante Club, Matt since it is one I own and is on the too read pile.
