Please join me on this beautiful Wednesday morning in wishing Angela Schuch, the infamous Scifi Chick, a happy 28th birthday!!!
It seems like we’ve all known Angela for a long time but it was only a few short months ago that I stumbled onto her blogspot site and began posting. She in turn started chiming in here and we’ve all become fast friends. Angela is a huge science fiction fan, an avid reader, a movie lover, a freshman comic book geek, and a veteran of at least one (that she admits to) Star Trek convention. Could anyone have tailored a more perfect friend for all of us here at the Droppings site?!?!? On top of all that I think you’ve all come to know that she’s a very sweet and intelligent young lady and I’m thankful that we’ve all been able to “meet” her.
If you haven’t been over to Angela’s site I encourage you to go have a look. The main page has posts related primarily to movies and books coming out in the science fiction/fantasy/comics genre. The forums offer an even wider array of topics that you are more than welcome to add your two cents to. Not only do you have the opportunity to share who you are with like-minded geeks but you can also read movie reviews, book reviews, comic reviews, and talk about all manner of science fiction, fantasy, comic, anime, movie, music and book related topics. Its a fun, rapidly growing site.
Happy Birthday, Angela! I’m so glad that you are a part of our lives via the weird and wonderful world of blogs. If you’re ever in the KC area you’d be welcomed with open arms by all the local readers of this site! I hope you have a wonderful, special day!
Happy Birthday, Angela!!! It’s been nice getting to know you a little through cyberspace!
I love your website!! Its neato!! Unfortunately, I am a little lost there, as I am not much of a sci-fi gal, myself. I do, however, think it’s awesome that you are, cuz it’s stereotypically a guy thing and I love it when women ‘cross over’. Girl Power!!!!!
I think if you lived close we could get together and be friends.
Have a wonderful day!!!!
thanks Carl! that is very nice of you! i’m really thankful you stumbled across my site & encouraged me to take my fandom to another level by starting that site. lol.. glad i’ve gotten to know quite a few of you thanks to the internet.. it’s great to be able to share passions & views & even just chit chat with you all!
and thanks to you too Julie! you’re welcome to the site anytime! (everyone’s a newbie at one time).. ehe..
and we talk about other stuff besides just scifi at times too..
and i agree, it’s too bad you all live so far away!
but i consider you my friends anyway! 🙂
and too funny that you posted this picture of me & jeffrey combs! i cracked up!
Happy 28th Birthday, Angela! In addition to your blog, I love reading your insightful and entertaining comments on this and other blogs.
Have a great day!
I’m sorry that I made it sound like we weren’t friends. I consider you a cyber friend! I just meant we could be hang out friends.
I will take the sci-fi plunge on your site soon!!! 🙂
That’s funny, I thought the same thing when I read your comment Julie. I knew what you meant but it made me laugh anyway. 🙂
lol. i know what you meant too.. don’t worry, Julie!
And thanks to you too, Mary!
Cool, happy b-day, kiddo. (You’re still under 30, so I can call you that. ;-))
Happy Birthday, Angela!
LOL Rob! When I typed “sweet and intelligent YOUNG lady” I realized how accurate that was…I”m close to 10 years older than Angela…man, I’m old! 🙂
But not as old as me, as you keep trying to point out.
yeah rob, you’re such an old fogey. lol
and yes, i think i’m going to conveniently start lying about my age right before i turn 30…
So, how are you celebrating your big day?
No doubt, my bones crack more and more. And my back kills after I play volleyball.
It’s all down hill from here! 😀
Is it just me, or does Miss Schuch look like a younger, blonder Sela Ward in that pic?
🙂
well, people from work took me out for lunch.. and my parents are coming down to take me out to dinner. so i’m eating a lot! lol oh yeah.. and i just stopped by the comic store!.. picked up a few titles..
I just picked up the first 4 issues (out of 5) of Greg Land’s X-Men Phoenix Endsong. I think the 5 one comes out it April. If you haven’t gotten these I’ll send em to you after I read the last one.
Yes Rob, I can see the Sela Ward resemblance.
I loved those Sela Ward commercials that were out awhile ago…can’t for the life of me remember what they were for.
no, i haven’t read them.. that’d be cool, thanks! are they good?
and sela ward sounds familiar, but i can’t place her
She was on Once and Again a few years back.
Here’s a site link.
Here’s one where you can see some similarity of facial features.
I’ve only read the first one, so far so good. The fifth comes out April 27th. I’ll send em your way after that.
